Enos Lafayette Elder was the son of Ira Hill Elder, Sr. (1810-1883) and Malinda Ray (1824-1895) . He was married to Mary Tennessee Patterson on 2 Apr 1871 in Red River County, Texas.
Together they had 10 children. Some of whom are also buried in the Brewster Cemetery and elsewhere in Red River County.
