Texas State Representative and Businees Man. He was elected to represent the 144th Texas House District and served in the 81st and 82nd legislative sessions. Representative Legler served as a Texas representative on the Energy Council and as a District Staff Officer-State Liaison Officer for the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary. In 2010 he was appointed as District Staff Officer, Legislative and State Liaison for the US Coast Guard Auxiliary 8th Coastal Region mentoring and supervising State Liaison officers in Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico and Texas. He received a Coast Guard Unit Commendation for his operations excellence in 2010. Prior to his election to the House, he worked at and ultimately purchased and ran Houston Wire Works. His business accumen earned him appointments to the Texas Commission of Environmental Quality Advisory Board for Small Business and the federal Environmental Protection Agency National Advisory Board, of which he was chairman at the time of his death.
