A native and longtime resident of Beaumont, Texas, he was born on October 24, 1933, to Enna Vae Folkland Mattingly and Douglas Nicholas Mattingly, Sr.
Doug was a retired dentist, having practiced in Beaumont for over thirty-eight years, and was a member of the Sabine Dental Society. He was a member of the National Greyhound Racing Association and loved fishing, hunting, and the outdoors.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Mattingly; step-daughter, Belinda Jeffcoat; brother, Martin L. Mattingly and his wife, Gail; one nephew; two nieces; and one great-niece.
Interment: Old Hardin Cemetery, Kountze, Texas
