When Stanley Leo Bishop was born on March 6, 1905, in Portage, Aitkin County, Minnesota, his father, Joseph, was 26 and his mother, Gertrude, was 28. He had a brother and a sister who were born in the USA. He moved with his parents to Canada in 1909. There, he had two brothers and a sister. He attended high school in Canada for three years. In 1934 Stanley crossed the Canadian border into the USA by himself. At that time he reported that he was a Timekeeper (and Stanley's worksite was unknown to that reporter). He made his way to Michigan, and then worked first, as a Plasterer, and secondly, as a Painter, according to a phone directory and a census report. He served in the Army April-July 1942, and then was discharged to his parents' home in Michigan. Later, he probably moved in early 1952 with his parents to Texas. He was living in Temple, Texas, when his father died in 1866 and when his mother died in 1970. He was single all his life. His last residence was with his sister, Ethel, and her husband, Ed Borg, in their Grand Prairie home. He reportedly was a Laborer for a steel company at that time. He died on March 26, 1984, in a hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. Stanley Leo Bishop was buried in Arlington, Texas. His parents had already been buried in the same cemetery. His sister Ethel, and her husband, Ed Borg, were later buried there.
