Mr. and Mrs. William Potthoff of R.F.D. are in the city today. They are newlyweds, who were united in marriage September 22 in the Lutheran church at Culbertson, with Rev. Fred Wegener officiating. After the ceremony a bountiful wedding dinner was served to 60 guests at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Fries.

The supper was followed by a dance. Mr. and Mrs. Potthoff have gone to housekeeping on a farm fourteen miles north of Culbertson in Hayes County which they have leased for five years.

William Potthoff, 58, was killed January 11, 1963 in a traffic accident west of Trenton, Nebraska. The pickup he was driving collided with an eastbound bus during a ground blizzard.

Mr. Potthoff was born January 18, 1904 at Giesselhorst, Germany, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Potthoff Sr. He came to the United States at the age of 9 and settled with his parents near Hallam, Nebraska. They moved to the McCook community in 1917. He graduated from Red Willow High School in 1925.

On September 22, 1929 he was married to Katherine Fries at the Lutheran Church in Culbertson, Nebraska. They resided in the Beverly community until moving to a farm west of Trenton in 1944.

Mr. Potthoff was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Trenton. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter.

Survivors are his widow, Katherine; three sons, Marvin of McCook, Donald of the U.S. Navy at Long Beach, California, and Harold of Trenton; one daughter, Mrs. Joyce Williamson of Denver, Colorado; three grandsons and one granddaughter.

Other survivors include seven brothers, Fred Jr., Otto and Glen of McCook, Detrick of Wauneta, August of Englewood, Colorado, Gustav of Denver, and Herman of Grass Valley, California; and two sisters, Mrs. Martin Keen of McCook and Mrs. Arnold Coversier of Globe, Arizona.

Funeral services were held January 15 at St. John Lutheran Church in Culbertson with Rev. R. Staehr of McCook officiating. Interment was in the Culbertson Cemetery.
