CARLTON VAUGHN ARDIS
Vaughn Ardis, 56, Farwell, died Saturday, March 24, at Veterans Administration Hospital in Ann Arbor after an illness of two weeks.
He was born June 3, 1916, in Hart, the son of Raymond and Sadie (Arbuckle) Ardis.
He married Mary G. Sterken in Lowell, July 9, 1942.
He lived in St. Louis prior to moving to Farwell 15 years ago.
He was the owner of Ardis Nursing Home.
Mr. Ardis was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Farwell VFW.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; a daughter, Mrs. William H. Maybaum of Ypsilanti; a son, Mark, at home; a grandson; two sisters, Mrs. Jack Verkler of Hart and Mrs. Charles Brooks of Mason; and three brothers, Wendell of Garden City, Bhul of Lansing, and Donald of Grand Rapids.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, at Stephenson - Doherty Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Hilliard officiating. Burial will be in Cherry Grove Cemetery. (The Clare Sentinel, p. 18 - Clare, MI - 28 March 1973)
