J.T. PENNINGTON PASSES AT HIS HOME AT CONCORD—John Thomas Pennington, age 74, died at his home in the Concord community Saturday afternoon at three o’clock, following an illness of several weeks. Mr. Pennington was born near New Site and at the age of 21 was married to Miss Alice Caswell, of near LaGrange, Ga. Mr. Pennington had lived for nearly thirty years in the Concord community where he was engaged in farming. He joined the Primitive Baptist Church in early young manhood and was a faithful member of the Concord Church until his death. Surviving are the widow and eight children, six sons and two daughters. They are John W. Pennington, Selma; C. A. Pennington, Dadeville; G. C. Pennington, Tuscumbia; G. F. Pennington, Sheffield; L. A. Pennington, Lawrenceburg, Tenn,; H. R. Pennington, Brooklyn, New York; Mrs. E. O. S. Harrelson, Dadeville, R. 2; Mrs. Joe Bailey, Sardis, Miss. One Daughter, Mrs. Grady Turner of Phil Campbell preceded the deceased three years. Surviving also are one sister, Mrs. Frank Caswell, Memphis, Tenn.; a half Brother, B. R. Jackson, West Point, Ga. Mr. Pennington was a man with a strong religious nature and was one of the honored citizens of his community. He was a devoted friend and a dutiful husband and father.
