Joseph Thomas (b. 1829) was the son of James R. Malone (b. 13 Aug 1797 NC, d. 13 Aug 1879, son of John Malone and Anne Blackwell of Granville Co., NC) and Mary Polly Cook ( b. 1801, d. 26 Oct 1842; dau. of John Cook) of Franklin Co., AL.
