DRESDEN: Services for Joe Harold Alexander, 72, were held Friday, April 1, at Gallimore Funeral Home with Rev. Roy Auvenshine and Rev. Gene Price officiating.
Mr. Alexander, a retired United States Navy Master Chief, died Tuesday, March 29, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association and American Military Society.
He was born February 7, 1933, in Gleason, to the late Ira Alexander and Lula Underwood Alexander. Mr. Alexander was preceded in death by his wife, Judith Alexander; a daughter, Vicki Marie Chappell; a stepson, Bruce Allen Gordon; and a sister, Norma Jean Perkins.
Survivors include two daughters, Joy Lynn Alexander of Trezevant, and Jamie Suzanne "Suzie" Alexander of South Hampton, Virginia; a stepdaughter, Amy Gordon of Haverhill, Massachusetts; a son, Terry Wayne Alexander of Greenfield; two stepsons, Eric Gordon of Gleason, and Michael Gordon of Revere, Massachusetts; a brother, Lendell Alexander of Dresden; a sister, Rebecca Verdell of Gleason; eleven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
