The Most Loved and missed person in her family. Beloved Wife of Donald Stevinson(1906-1973), mother of Donald Stevinson Jr. (1927-2006), grandmother of Scott, and Michael. Dorothy had five great-grand-children Jeromy, Kristen, Alexa, Michele and Douglas, and many nieces and nephews. Dorothy was the Daughter of Ira Seymour(1882-1966) and Florence Seymour(1884-1947). Sister of the late Agnes Seymour Findley (1905-1998), Harold Seymour(1913-1997), Donald Seymour (1917-1940), and Lawrence Seymour (1920-1995). She was a native of Wausen, Ohio and moved to Turlock with her family as a young girl. She later made her home in Watsonville for 50 years before residing in Madera and Fresno. She was a homemaker, an honorary member of the Eastern Star and a member of the Madera United Methodist Church. Her late husband was a native and descent of the founder of the town of Stevinson California. Dorothy was loved by everyone who knew her. She loved her family so very much. It was very hard being the last of The Seymour siblings alive seeing as how she was the second oldest but she survived. She was a handy with a needle, and a very good cook. Dorothy was the family historian, she knew every name, and had a story for all of them. She had the greatest memory for dates and names more than anyone I ever knew. She was a cut above the rest of her family. The Seymour's tend to be more on the negative side of things, but Dorothy was more on the positive. To know her was to love her. She was the most beloved member of the family. She is truely Missed. She wanted so bad to live to be 100, but it was not to be. Died 12 Days Before her 96th Birthday. Many people who loved her would say that 95 years may be a lot for some people but not for Dorothy. When it came to her funeral even family members who weren't speaking put all differences aside to attend. That is how special she was. Her niece Velura (Sister Agnes's daughter) had 76 years of her life since the day she was born with Dorothy in it, but will still break down and cry when talking about her. She was that loved. On a sadder note since the death of his mother Don Stevinson's health has declined. Don was a big guy that was always full of joy, but with then loss of his mother he has lost his joy. He is now very gaunt and thin, and has had several heart problems. He also got 76 years with his mother, and even that was not enough. Don loves his wife, and loves his sons and grandchildren, but Dorothy was truly his best friend. She is someone who will truly live on forever. One Special Lady.
