She was the daughter of the late William David Cooper and Ida Lou Rogers Cooper and preceded in death by her husband Ernest Joe Armstrong and son Bill Armstrong.
She had retired from the housekeeping department at Lincoln Medical Center.
She was a member of Southside Baptist Church where Pastor James (Bud) Jernigan and Rev. Doug McClain will conduct the funeral services at 2 p.m. Sunday. The funeral will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at E.F. Drum Funeral Home.
Survivors include sons and their wives: Bob and Martha Armstrong, Earl and Frances Armstrong, and Jerry and Maxine Armstrong; daughter and husband Jane and Claude Roberts , all of Lincolnton; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church, or Hospice of Lincoln County.
