Josiah died of scarlet fever near Meadow Grove, Madison County, NE on Oct. 28, 1901. She continued to live on the farm near Meadow Grove for about 5 more years. Then in 1906 she and two of her sons Raymond and John Henry came to southern Rock Co., NE and homesteaded on land joining her daughter Lillie and son-in-law Walter Brown who had homesteaded here in 1905. She died from diabetes on Mar. 11, 1913 and was buried in Sybrant Cem., Sybrant, Rock Co., NE.
