Last Sunday evening the friends and relatives of Mr. and Mrs. Harmon Alberts surprised them by dropping in on them for six o'clock supper. The occasion being their Silver Wedding Anniversary. The ladies served a picnic supper which they had brought along and later in the evening ice cream and cake were served. Mr. and Mrs. Alberts received a number of lovely gifts of silverware.

Out of town guests were: Mr. and Mrs. C.B. Saathoff and daughter Lena of Glenville, Nebraska; Mr. and Mrs. John J. Groothuis of Haigler; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Meints and son of Beverly; Mr. and Mrs. A.J. Groothuis and daughter of Cornell, Nebraska; and Mr. Albert Alberts and his sister Ida of Huntley, Nebraska. The guests were approximately seventy-five in number.

CULBERTSON -- Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday May 16, 1965 at St. John Lutheran Church, Culbertson, Nebraska, with the Rev. R. Einspahr officiating. Interment will be in the Culbertson Cemetery under the direction of the Herrmann Chapel of Culbertson. Memorials may be addressed to St. John's Church.

Organist -- Linda Cook and soloist -- Ivan Groothuis. Songs: "I'm But A Stranger Here, Heaven Is My Home," "What a Friend We Have in Jesus."

Pallbearers - William Hageman, Andrew Alberts, Andrew A. Groothuis, Andrew T. Groothuis, Henry Meints, and Carl Saathoff.

Mr. Alberts was born Nov 21, 1881 in Egels, Germany, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Alberts. He came with his parents to the United States, and they settled at Hildreth. He grew to manhood there and was married June 16, 1905 to Hinrika Groothuis. They came to Culbertson in 1916 where he engaged in farming west of town. They moved into Culbertson in 1946. His wife died May 20, 1933.

He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Etta Haussler, Emmett, Idaho; Mrs. Ella Rathe, Culbertson; Mrs. Dora Rice, McCook; five sons, Albert H., John, and Walter, all of McCook; Elmer, Palisade; Harm W., Culbertson; 19 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Dorathea Meints, Culbertson.
