Lucian Clyde Laurie, Sr., of Claremont, died June 18, 2007 at the Haven Health Center of Claremont.

He was born in Barnard, VT on February 18, 1915 the son of Eli and Nora (Barnes) Laurie and had resided in the Charlestown and Claremont area.

He worked at the Woodstock Market for many years and previously as a caretaker of estates in ME, NY and NH.

He was a member and former master of the Charlestown Grange #204 and a member of the North Charlestown United Methodist Church.

The surviving family includes his wife, Virginia (Johnson) Laurie of Claremont whom he married on June 24, 1939; one son, Lucian Laurie, Jr. of Swansboro, NC; two daughters, Phyllis Potter of North Pomfret, VT and Jo-Anne Wallace of Charlestown; many loved grandchildren, great-grand-children and great-great-grandchildren.

He was pre-deceased by one son, David Laurie in 2001 and twelve brothers and sisters.

Graveside committal services will be held June 21st at the Child Cemetery in Cornish.
