Alice Lucinda Freeman was born 5 August 1897 in Ucon, Bonneville,

She met Jesse Earl Metcalf in 1914 and they were married 17 July 1915 at the Bonneville County Courthouse by Judge Lewis Lee (I have a copy of the marriage certificate).

On their 7th wedding anniversary they were blessed with a son.

Jesse Earl Metcalf passed away 5 December 1954, and SADLY Alice was not their, she was on her way back from Salmon, Idaho, after assisting one of their kids with her grandkids and when she got to their home in Mackay, she was stopped before she could go inside the house, where Jesse had passed away from a heart attack in his chair, in the front room.

Sometime afterwards
she met and later married William " Pop " Wells on 8 May 1958. He passed away on 6 June 1972.

At the time of her own passing on 19 January 1981, she was living in Mollala Oregon with her daughter Verna Mary Metcalf Moyer Knowlton.

Her funeral was held at the Wood Funeral Home Chapel on Ridge Street in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Bio done by her great grandson David Metcalf
----------------------------

One of my fondest memories of this dear sweet lady, is when she was living just down the road from her son, in Leslie, Idaho, in a trailer with an old wood garage close by.

It is where she kept an old chest freezer, that at my young age seemed to be filled with ice cream, and being given the honor of sharing this treat with my siblings,as well as parents and sitting in the same room with her.

I also remember seeing her prior to her passing at a family reunion, and before she left I said good bye to her, as she was sitting in the back seat of her daughter Gay's car.

The next time I saw her was at the funeral that was held in the chapel area of Wood Funeral Home in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Alice Lucinda Freeman Metcalf Wells is an asset and a credit to her family, as well as those of our ancestors !
