Born to Dea. Joseph Safford and Ann Longbottom of Bennington, VT. He served eight days in Capt. Joseph Safford's company, Col. Ebenezer Walbridge's regiment, of Vermont, on the Castleton alarm, October 14, 1781, and at other times. On the 29th of March, 1785, then, the town of Cambridge was organized, and the proper list of town officers chosen, which were as follows: David Safford, moderator and sealer of weights and measures. On 10 Sep 1772 he married Anna Brewster in Bennington, VT and they had at least 7 children.
