Passed away suddenly Tuesday, May 23, 2012 at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo. Age 29 years. She will be missed by the many friends and family she leaves behind. Kristen was born in Battle Creek, MI on October 24, 1982, the beloved daughter of Dr. William and Sandra (Kirk) Allen; they survive her. She graduated from Portage Northern High School and then attended Kalamazoo Valley Community College. Kristen was employed with The Surgical Group of Southwest Michigan. She was a member of Portage United Church of Christ. She was a member of Team Kinetic Precision Skating Team and Kalamazoo Ice Kraze. She was involved in fundraising for Breast Cancer and Toys for Tots. Surviving besides her parents are her sister, Andrea Allen of Mattawan; her twin brother, Kirk Allen of Kalamazoo; her grandmother, Madge Allen of Chesterfield, MO; her Aunts and Uncles, Robert (Sue) Allen, Linda Deardeuff, Leah (Clark) Rogers and Dorothy Wheeler; and her cousins, Amy (John) Clark, Melissa Allen, Gavin Deardeuff, Allison Deardeuff, Cathy Dean, Jayne Dean and Stephen (Margee) Wheeler. Kristen was preceded in death by her grandparents, Joe and Eileen Kirk and William C. Allen. According to her wishes, Kristen will be a donor for the Gift of Life of Michigan. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 27, 2012 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 East Centre Ave., www.langelands.com. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Portage United Church of Christ 2731 W. Milham Ave. Pastor Howie Tobak and Pastor Todd Petty will officiate with interment at 2:00 p.m. in Hope Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure , Southwest Michigan Affiliate, 229 E.
