Death Summons Ralph E. Huntington, Nurseryman/Died at Age of 59 After Long Illness; Funeral Will Be Held Saturday
Ralph E. Huntington, life-long resident of Painesville and one of Lake County's best known nurserymen, died at his home on East Jackson Street, Wednesday night following a long illness. He was 59 years old. The Huntington families, with their many branches, have been prominently connnected with the history of Painesville and Lake County for more than a century. Ralph E. Huntington was the son of Marvin and Ellen Huntington. He was born here January 23, 1869. Mr. Huntington was educated in the Painesville Public Schools and had lived here all of his life. He followed his father in the contracting business as a young man and about 25 years ago established a nursery and seed business which has become one of the best known in the Lake County nursery belt. Outside of the horticultural clients he was widely known as a lodge-man being affiliated with several Painesville Masonic Lodges. He is survived by his widow, Nettie M.; a daughter, Mrs. Ralph O. Taylor; and a sister, Mrs. S. D. Chapman, all residing in Painesville. Funeral services will be held at the late residence on East Jackson St., Saturday afternoon at 2: 30, it was announced this morning by members of the family. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
