Attorney John S Weller, 78, a former district attorney of Bedford County and former state senator from the 36th district, of which Bedford County is a part, died Tuesday in the West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh. Attorney Weller was a native of Somerset County and moved to Pittsburgh in 1901.
He was admitted to the Bedford County Bar in 1891. A widely known authority on the laws governing oil and gas properties, he was president and director of the Arkansas Fuel Oil Company and of West Penn Hospital.
Mr. Weller was named a member of the City Planning Commission of Pittsburgh a number of years ago. He was a member of the Bedford Masonic Lodge, the Duquesne and Pittsburgh Athletic Clubs and a number of Country Clubs.
