OGDEN – William Wallace Purrington, 80, 2877 Monroe, died of a heart ailment Monday at his home. Born October 30, 1881, West Weber, to William Marwood and Elizabeth Robb Purrington. Married Ruth May Hunter January 20, 1904, Salt Lake Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She died September 11, 1911. Married Mary Agnes Hunter November 12, 1913, Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Chief engineer, assistant superintendent, American Packing and Provision Co. Retired in 1943 after 40 years. Former Mutual Improvement Association President; Seventies Quorum president; genealogical committee chairman, of Seventeenth LDS Ward. Charter member, former secretary, Ogden Industrial Club.

Survivors: widow; sons, J. Frank, Montebello, California; G. Wayne, Roy; daughters, Mrs. Chester L. (Elizabeth Mae) Brown, San Jose, California; Mrs. Leland (Dorothy) Roskelly, South Ogden; 15 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; 3 brothers, Charles, Lee, both Salt Lake City; Stanley, Centerville.

Funeral Thursday, 1 p.m., Lindquist Mortuary, where friends call Wednesday, 7-9 p.m., Thursday prior to services. Burial, West Weber Cemetery.
