Elgin Junior (EJ) Arave died July 6, 1998 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

He was born November 8, 1924 in Taylor, Idaho to Elgin Frank and Ireta Earl Arave. He married Myrtle Nielsen January 30, 1948 in Magna, Utah. EJ was an active member of the LDS church. He served in the US Navy during World War II as a Chief Petty Officer. He worked for Kennecott Copper while he attended the University of Utah. He worked for the AEC/DOE in Idaho, California, and Ohio from 1950 to 1983 at which time he retired to Prescott Valley, AZ. In 1997 they moved to Las Vegas to be closer to their children.

He is survived by his wife, son, Larry Elgin Arave, daughter, JoLynn (Guy) Deiro, all of Las Vegas, Nevada, brother, Marshall Arave, Blackfoot, Idaho, sister, Carla Pearce, Salt Lake City, Utah, 10 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside Services will be held Saturday July 11, 1998 11 am at the Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 South Redwood Rd. Friends may call Saturday 9:30-10:30 am at the Peel Funeral Home, 8525 West 2700 South, Magna.
