SEABERRY B. SMITH
Seaberry B. Smith, a retired farmer, died at 7 o'clock last night at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Smith, Glen Rock R.D. 3. He was 79 years old and had been ill for eight months.
Mr. Smith was a member of the Reformed Congregation of Stone Church and belonged to the Glen Rock Hose and Ladder Company.
Surviving besides his son with whom he resided are three other sons, Maurice R. Smith, J. Steward Smith and Parker T. Smith, all of Glen Rock R.D. 3; five grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Mandilla Jones, Hanover.
The funeral will be held Wednesday with brief services at 9:30 a.m. at the late residence and concluding rites at Stone Church. The Rev. Dr. Paul D. Yoder, pastor of the Reformed Congregation, will officiate. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Friends may call at the late home from tomorrow afternoon until time of the funeral. Arrangements are in charge of H. C. Geiple and Son, Glen Rock.
Seaberry B. Smith was born March 30, 1868, and died at his home in Codorus Township, August 10, 1947, aged 79 years, 4 months, and 10 days.
Mr. Smith had been ill for a long time. He was an esteemed and respected citizen in the community in which he spent his whole life. He was a faithful and devoted member of St. Jacob's (Stone) Evangelical and Reformed Church for more than 60 years. A loyal servant of the church and a liberal supporter of it. The pastor had in Mr. Smith a sincere friend.
The funeral services were held from his late home on Wednesday morning, August 13, 1947, and at the Stone Church, where many relatives, friends and neighbors were in attendance. Funeral text, II Tim. 4:8. Burial was in the Stone Church cemetery.
