Crestline Advocate, Crestline, Crawford County, Ohio 122 Sep 1921

Crestline people were shocked Wednesday morning to learn of the sudden death at 10 o'clock of Mrs. Mary Adams, of Pearl street. Mrs. Adams had not been strong for several years, but was able to attend to her household duties and also found time for active labor in the Reformed church, its Aid Society and other departments with which she was connected. For about two weeks she had not felt well, but her condition was not considered alarming and she was up and about the house until Monday, when she took to her bed. Pleurisy which reached her heart is given as the cause of her death. Funeral services will be held from Calvary Reformed church Saturday afternoon at two o'clock, Rev. L. C. Hessert officiating.

Mary Whitmyer was born in Crestline August 12, 11872, thus attaining the age of 49 years, 1 month and 9 days. She was married to John Adam November 17, 1892 and for a few years after their marriage they resided in Shreve. They returned to Crestline and Mr. Adams died here 22 years ago on March 6. One daughter, Ruth, was born to them, who survives, residing at the family home on Pearl street.

The deceased is also survived by her father, Leonard Whitmyer, of this city, two sisters, Mrs. Anna Reindl, of Crestline, and Mrs. Irvin Bishop, of Shelby, and one brother, Chas. Whitmyer, of Chicago, together with other sorrowing relatives and friends. Mrs. Adams was unassuming and conservative in her tastes, but was much admired for her kindly disposition and thoughtful acts.
