Mary Irene Banta was born June 22, 1890 in Berryman, Crawford County, Missouri. The daughter of Cyrus Newton Banta Sr (1850-1929) and Susan Price Larned (1862-1942). According to the 1910 U.S. Census Irene was a School Teacher in a public school at the age of 19. In May of 1916 Irene married Lilburn Fieldon Ives (1887-1970) in Crawford County MO. He worked as a Stock Farmer and Irene kept house.
To their Union was born two Children
1) Charlotte Winthfred Ives (1917-2009) Married, Robert Kenneth Deboard
2) 2nd. LT Epke Taylor Ives (1920-1945) a Naval Airman lost in the Philippines over Ludon Island
Irene passed away July 24, 1959 in Denver Colorado. She is buried at Berryman Cemetery in Berryman Missouri.
