WAPELLO, Iowa-- Bernice Nettie Stoffel, 84, died Sunday, May 27, 2012 at Wapello, Iowa.

Mrs. Stoffel was born Oct. 13, 1927, at Aurora, the daughter of Albert and Elvina (Chavey) Adam.

She attended the Woodruff Country School. She was a homemaker and also worked as a motel clerk. She was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Stoffel; two sisters, Ruth Pearce and May Bauer; an infant brother; and her longtime companion, Marvin Lilliman.

Survivors include two sons, Douglas Gene Stoffel and wife Pat of Sun City, Ariz. and Donald Stoffel of Los Angeles, Calif.; one sister, Doris McGregory of Arlington, Texas; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 4, at the SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Clay Center, with the Rev. Larry Grennan officiating. Inurnment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until service time at the church on Monday.

Memorials may be made to SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church and may be sent in care of Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home, 918 7th St., Clay Center, KS 67432.
