Canadian politician and magistrate. A native of Rivière-Ouelle (Québec), he studied at the Minor Seminary of Québec and at Laval University. He was admitted to the Bar of the Province of Québec on July 20, 1881. On June 30, 1906, he was created King’s Counsel. He worked first in Québec during four years, then in 1885, he went to La Malbaie where he practised, with l'exception of the years 1897 to 1900 when he was in Baie-Saint-Paul. He served as magistrate for the district of Chicoutimi from August 1892 to August 1897. He was a collaborator of the newspaper “L'Écho des Laurentides” in La Malbaie. He was Mayor of Baie-Saint-Paul, from 1897 to 1901 and Prefect of the county of Charlevoix, from March 1898 to June 1900. As a Conservative candidate, he was defeated in the district of Charlevoix in 1892. But five years later, he was elected in the same district in 1897 as a Conservative member of the Legislative Assembly. He did represented himself in 1900. He was re-elected in the same district in 1904 and 1908, then in Charlevoix and Saguenay in 1912 and 1916. He was defeated in Charlevoix-Saguenay in 1919. He was named judge at the Superior Court of the Province of Québec, on March 3, 1921 and resided in the city of Québec where he passed away.
