Edna L. Calkins, 63, of Mt. Pleasant, died Friday, October 7 at the Central Michigan Community Hospital after an illness of one and a half years.

She was born to Albert Allen and Elzara (Harsh) Reed on June 20, 1914 in Isabella County. He preceded her in death in 1976.

She was a member of the Westside Gospel Tabernacle, Mt. Pleasant and a life resident of the County.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Donna Marie) Hanley, Portland, Mrs. William (Vietta May) Wood, Mt. Pleasant; 2 sons, Robert F. Olivet, James Roy, Mt. Pleasant; 1 sister-in-law, Mrs. George (Alethia) Shayles, Clare; 1 aunt, Mrs. John (Mable) Tomaszewski, Harrison; 1 uncle, Mr. Bert Anderson, Harrison; 12 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 10 from the Stinson-Helms Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant, with Rev. Jack Gates of the Westside Gospel Tabernacle Church, officiating. Burial was at the Cherry Grove Cemetery, Clare.
