Celia Hill Ettl
Celia Hill Ettl passed away on December 24, 2005 at The Fountains in Yuba City. A Funeral Mass was held on December 29th with burial at the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
Ettl was born on June 10, 1917, in Grimes. She was a homemaker for 68 years and lived in Sutter County the past 60 years. She married Walter Joseph Ettl on November 21, 1936, in Colusa at Our Lady of Lourdes. She joined the Colusi County Historical Society in 1966.
She was a member of the Winship Elementary Parent's Club for over 31 years, 4-H leader for more than 25 years, founder of the Reading Grand-mothers Program, a Sutter County Memorial Museum Director, and A.C.C.E. teacher for Our Lady of Lourdes.
Celia Ettl was survived by her sister Elena Stevenson; sons, Robert Ettl, of Meridian, Franz and James Ettl of Yuba City; daughters, Dorothy Ettl and Sarah Pryor, of Yuba City. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Ettl, mother Lily Hill, father Raleigh Hill, daughter Franceska Hill, and son William Ettl.
