Amanda Lee Guelker "Shortie", 19, of Buna, Texas, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2012.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 2, 2012, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange with Reverend Jeremy Walton officiating. Burial will follow at Eaves Cemetery.

Amanda was born in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina to Keith Allen and Virginia "Jenny" (Simons) Guelker.

She was a 2011 graduate of Buna High School and was attending Lamar University to become a neonatal nurse. She was also a member of New Cherry Grove Baptist Church and worked at the Saltgrass Steakhouse in Beaumont. Amanda loved life and lived it to the fullest. She was your Southern girl next door that loved being on the river, at the lake or beach, riding four wheelers, hunting, fishing, riding horses or any activities that involved the outdoors with family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her step grandmother, Gail Guelker and best friend, Don Earl Harris.

Those left to cherish her memory are her parents, Keith Allen and Virginia "Jenny" (Simons) Guelker of Buna; sister, Ashley Guelker of Buna and grandparents, Marshall and Mary Simons of Alliance, Ohio, W.F. "Pete" Guelker, Jr. of Little Cypress and Wanda Morgan of Bridge City. Amanda is also survived by her fiancé, best friend and soul mate, Dylan Schriefer of Buna and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, both near and far, who all will miss her dearly.
