Barre--A service of remembrance for Alexander Brown Jr., who died Jan. 27, 1998, was held Monday in Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy St. in Barre. The Rev. Richard Focier of the Barre Universalist Church officiated. Terry Boyer, a son, offered reflections.
Burial took place in Hope Cemetery where the Rev. Forcier offered committal prayers and Joseph Corey, commander of American Legion Post 10, presented the flag to Terry Boyer.

BROWN, Alexander Jr., 83, of Barre, died Jan. 27. Born in 1914 in Canada, he was the son of Alexander and Ina ( Angus ) Brown. He served in the Army during WWII. His wife, Doris LeFebvre, died in 1996. He worked for New England Telephone Co., retiring in 1982.
Survivors include a son, Terry Boyer; a daughter, Leslie McBride; four grandchildren.
