Irene Moon, 73, wife of Robert Moon, 326 N. Hackley, died Tuesday in Hobe Sound, Fla., after a brief illness. She was born in New Castle and attended Indiana School for the Deaf in Indianapolis, graduating in 1930.
For the last seven winters, she and her husband had made their winter home in Hobe Sound. While living in this area, they lived in Muncie and New Castle.
Mrs. Moon was formerly employed at Chrysler Corp. in New Castle for seven years and at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. in Muncie for two years. She was a member of Senior Citizens for the Deaf, and the Indiana Association of the Deaf.
Her only survivor is her husband, to whom she had been married 44 years Dec. 25.
Services will be in Meeks Mortuary at 1 p.m. Monday. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Cemetery, and friends may call at the mortuary from 2 to 9 tomorrow or prior to services Monday.
