ROBINS
Valerie Lynn Schmidt, 48, of 200 E. Main
St., died Sunday, Aug. 20, 2006, in her home
after a sudden illness. Services: 10 a..m.
Saturday, Noelridge Christian Church, Cedar
Rapids, by Dr. Douglas Miller. Burial: Cedar
Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Pastor
Ron Connerly will lead a prayer service at
Teahan Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids, where
friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Friends may also
visit after 9 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Valerie, a devoted mother, is survived by her two
loving children, Brittany and Bryan Steyne, both
of Robins; three brothers, Bruce (Ruth) Schmidt of
Ohio,Joel Schmidt of Iowa City and James Schmidt
of Robins; a sister JoAnne (Jim) Pruitt of Marion;
Daniel Steyne of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces
and nephews.

Valerie was born July 15 1958, in Wisconsin,
daughter of Roger and Shirley Muller Schmidt. She
was a graduate of Kennedy High School and a
longtime resident of Robins. Valerie was married to
Daniel Steyne in June 1986. They later divorced.
She was an employee of Rockwell Collins and a
member of Noelridge Christian Church.

Valerie was a very hard working, unselfish and
caring person with a passion for cooking. She
enjoyed listening to Neil Diamond, the Eagles, and
her favorite song, "Desperado." She was loved
and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Memorials may be directed to the family for the
children's education.
