She was born Georgia Ann Thompson and took the surname Broadwick when she was adopted by Charles Broadwick.

She was the first woman to parachute from an airplane and the first woman to parachute into water.

She became the only female member of the Early Birds of Aviation.

She was awarded the Pioneer Aviation Award, the John Glenn Medal, and Gold Wings by the Adventurer's Club of LA.
