Barbara (Babcock Kenyon) Towart March 25, 1936 - May 6, 2012 Seminole, FL - BarbaraTowart, 76, passed away peacefully at home in Seminole, FL, May 6th, with her loving husband, Walter, by her side. She was born in Oneco on March 25, 1936, daughter of Elmer and Ruth (Williams) Babcock, who both predeceased her in 1996. She graduated from Plainfield High School, Class of 1954, and immediately began her extensive business career. She worked at Belavances Clothing Store, then for CBT, Moosup, as a teller, followed by office manager for the Blumenthals' Hardware Store in Danielson. In 1966 she obtained her Realtors' License and worked locally in real estate sales and development until moving to Florida in 1979 with her first husband, Orren Kenyon, who died in 1999, and her well known poodle, Susie. They co-managed the Eldorado/Jolly Roger hotel complex in Treasure Island, Florida, for 20 years. Barbara is survived by her husband, Walter Towart of Seminole, FL; sister Ruth & husband Ed Battey, of Oneco; brother, Ted & wife Kelly of Danielson; niece, Aubrey Babcock of Silver Spring, MD; nephew, Fletcher Babcock of Danielson; step-daughters Cindi Kenyon of Florida, Ruth Towart & step-granddaughter, Natilie, of Toronto, Canada. She also leaves numerous cousins and countless friends. There will be a memorial graveside service on Wednesday, May 30th , at the Oneco Cemetery at 10:30 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Oneco Methodist Church, Oneco, CT.
