s/o Benjamin Amos & Sarah Ann (Scott) Stark
h/o Cora Payne

Charles "Ed" Stark was born on a farm in rural Cole County in 1866, and in 1895, married Cora Payne. They had one son, Archie, who they raised on their farm in the Scrivner area. In addition to his agricultural work, Ed Stark was a carpenter and involved early in the establishment of what became the Scrivner Church of Christ. Utilizing his skills as a carpenter, he oversaw the construction of the new church building using timber sawed into lumber that was donated by area preacher R.L. Gaither. The new church was completed in 1918 and still stands along Scrivner Road.
Their son, Archie (pictured here as an infant), enlisted and served at the U.S. Naval Training Station at Hampton Roads, Virginia, in World War I. In later years, Archie Stark farmed part-time and worked nearly four decades in the banking industry. In April 1927, Archie Stark married Opal Remley, a popular schoolteacher from Moniteau County, and the couple had no children. Archie's parents are buried in Mt. Carmel Cemetery near Brazito while he and his wife are interred in Enloe Cemetery west of Russellville.
