William E. Jensen, "Bill," of Martin, was born April 27, 1959, at St. Anthony's Hospital, Martin, S.D., the fourth child of C.W. Jensen and Gwendolyn Ward. He passed away May 25, 2012. He graduated from Bennett County High School and joined the Marines in 1977. He served in the Philippines 2 1/2 years, fighting Alqaeda cells. He was a sports enthusiast specializing in saddle bronc riding for which he was awarded many trophies. He was on the Marine Corps rodeo team.
He was preceded in death by his father, C.W. Smokey Jensen, sister Julie and oldest brother, Mark. He leaves his mother, Gwen Ward, a brother, Troy Jensen, a niece, Julie and two nephews, a brother, Kip Jensen, three uncles, Tom and E.G. Ward, Barry Jensen, and niece, Jennifer Ward. Graveside services will be held Saturday, June 2, at 1:00 pm, at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the Eien Krolikowski fund at Security First Bank, Martin, S.D. Arrangements made by Bennett County Funeral Service.
