Durrell N. "Measels" Cassel, 83, formerly of Souderton, passed away Friday May, 25, 2012 at the Lutheran Community at Telford. He was beloved husband to the late Charlotte S. Cassel.

Born in Souderton, he was the son of the late Roland Sr. and Katie (Nice) Cassel.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Germany.

He was employed for 30 years as a maintenance supervisor for Ametek-Hunter Spring.

Mr. Cassel was a faithful member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Telford. He was very active in the Telford community serving as past president of the Lions, also serving in the Pop Warner Football Program, Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge No. 1539, VFW Post No. 5308, Telford, The American Legion Post No. 0234. Durrell was also a letterman for the Souderton Area High School Football Team as well as played on the first city -wide football team the Warriors.

He was survived by two sons, Tom Kulp and his wife, Suzanne, of Napa, CA and Phillip Cassel and his wife, Debbie, of Plum; his daughter, April Seery and her husband, Ron, of Enterprise AL; grandchildren, Sam, Cailin Trisha, Ann and William; as well as great-grandchildren, Aaliyah, Cooper and Molly.

Funeral Services were held on Thursday May 31, 2012 in the Sadler-Suess Funeral Home, Telford. Interment was in the Trinity UCC Cemetery, Telford.
