Mrs. Lena Bernice Baggerly, aged 43, died at her home in Orleans, yesterday afternoon at 5:30 after a long illness. She is survived by her husband, Herschell Baggerly; one sister, Mrs. C. E. Sheldon, of Orleans, and one nephew, LaVerne Sheldon, of Orleans. The funeral will be held at her late home in Orleans Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. (old time), the Rev. Howard Webster of Phelps officiating. Internment will be made in Orleans Cemetery. Mrs. Baggerly was an active member of the Seneca Castle Grange, the Eastern Star of Clifton Springs and a member of the Baptist Church of Orleans. (Geneva Daily Times, April 21, 1920)

A pretty home wedding occurred at the residence of Jerry Francis, on Wednesday evening of last week, when Miss Lena Francis and Herschel Baggerly were united in marriage. The ceremony was performed at 6 o'clock by Rev. Dr. Benham of Clifton Springs. At the appointed hour, accompanied by Alice and Earl Crittenden, the bride and groom took their places in front of a bank of evergreen and roses. The bride was dressed in a steel colored serge trimmed with white silk and chiffon, and the groom in the usual suit of black. The bride and bridesmaid carried bouquets of white carnations. Immediately after the ceremony a wedding supper was served, after which the happy couple received congratulations. They were well remembered by their friends in their wedding presents. The bride and groom left for a short trip amid a shower of rice and the well wishes of the company. They will make their future home with the groom's father, Chester Baggerly, in Orleans. (Phelps Citizen, Phelps, New York, April 20, 1899)
