Roy Kindrix will officiate. Interment will follow at Beulah Cemetery Calhoun, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.
On August 27, 1935 a very important happening took place out on the Lone Prairie near Monticello, Arkansas. A bouncing baby boy was born to Lora and Earlie McLure! This was their 9th child and second son. His name was Earl Daniel McLure but at an early age he took on the nickname of Biddie Boy. You see his father was called Big Boy (because of his large stature and big heart).
I was told that Biddie Boy had it hard when he was growing up. It was said that the seven sisters, six of them older than he gave him a hard time. In the summer of 1953 he graduated from Drew Central High School and came to Monroe, LA to seek his fortune or to make a million!
There were two major happenings in his life the year of 1955. While attending revival services in West Monroe, LA he felt the call of God into the ministry. Just before Christmas that year he went caroling with some young people from the local church. He met a young country girl, Lylia Crocker, whom he fell in love with and she became his wife on May 5, 1956. They made their home in a small town just a few miles west of Monroe, LA. Dan was licensed with the Assemblies of God Louisiana District that year and has ministered in churches in and around this area. He pastored for 51 years in Monroe and outlying areas and was currently serving as pastor of Calhoun.
He is survived by his wife, Lylia Crocker McLure; son, Danny McLure and wife Perri Jo; daughter, Sonya Temple; granddaughter, Angela McLure Abbott and husband George, Amanda McLure, Kimberly McLure and Miranda Rowan and friend Demetrius Johnson; grandsons; Adam Rowan and wife Kara and Evan Rowan; great grandchildren; Abigail Abbott, Stormy Rowan, Amiee Rowan, Isabelle Abbott and Carter Rowan; sister, Modell Narron and Virginia Robinson, Lucille Burroughs and husband John and Martha Woods and husband Larry; brother, William Fain McLure and wife Geraldine.
Pallbearers will be Adam Rowan, Evan Rowan, Tim Ross, Tom Batterton, George Abbott and Demetrius Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Cantrel, Eddie Ward, Albert Wells, Jimmy Davis and James Burnett.
Our deepest love and appreciation goes out to our friends, family, Dr. Koepke and the Glenwood Hospital CV-ICU staff during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Aged Ministers Assistance 1445 Boonville Avenue, Springfield, MO 65802.
