Easley, March 7--Mrs. Nancy Cowan Sloan, 73, died at the home of her son T. K. Sloan, near Dacusville, this afternoon at 4:10 following an extended illness. She was a daughter of the late Kirksey and Dorcas Drucilla Duncan Cowan and had made her home in the community in which she had died for 20 years. Her husband the late Benjamin Perry Sloan, died a year ago. She was a member of the Cross Roads Baptis Church. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Ruth Galbreath, Mrs. Bertie Bagwell, Mrs. Codie Elgin and Mrs. Lenora Hawkins; two sons J.E. and T. K. Sloan; two sisters Mrs. Lou Satterfield and Mrs. Mettie Grogan; four brothers, Joe, Mason, Eugene, and Sam Cowan.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Mountain View Methodist church near Salem Monday afternoon at 4 o'clock by Rev. Floyd Keith and Rev. Coleman Brown. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jim Finley, Hansel Williams, Wilburn Corbin, Ray Jones, Joel Morgan and J. B. Elgin. The body is at the home.
