It is noted that some of the Outcalt ancestors from this line spell the name Outcelt, Outkelt, Outkilt, Outcault and Outcalt, it is undetermined where this spelling distinction came from.

Notes from genealogy researcher, Maud Lillian (Bowlin) Tallman (Find A Grave Memorial# 117629011) made in about 1905, Maud's research stated that there were 11 children but only listed 5. John Nelson Outcelt; Joel Outcelt; Fred Outcelt; Daniel Outcelt (Col.) in Union Army who died in Libby Civil War Prison, VA abt 1865,); and Susan Outkelt or Outcelt.
