HAVILAND - Thelma G. Jay, 89, of San Antonio, Texas, formerly of Haviland, died in San Antonio, Texas, at the home of her daughter Connie Kalk. She was born May 13, 1923, in Paonia, Colo., the daughter of Frank E. and T. Blanche Knight Allen. She was a homemaker and Free Lance Writer. She was a member of Haviland Friends Church, Haviland.
On Dec. 27, 1942, she married Robert Jay in Center, Colo. He survives of San Antonio, Texas. Other survivors include: children, Carol Scott, Midwest City, Okla., Rebecca Bates, Salina, Katherine Jay, Newton, and Connie Kalk, San Antonio, Texas; a brother, Phillip Allen, Port Hueneme, Calif.; two foster brothers, Albert Henins, Gaithersburg, Md. and Ivars Henins, Los Alamos, N.M.; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, David Jay; a sister, Edith Gaines and two brothers, Horace Allen and Herbert Allen.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Haviland Friends Church. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday with family present at Ayres-Calbeck Mortuary, Pratt. Burial will be in Haviland Cemetery.
