George Lowell "Bud" Hoshaw, 83, Kokomo, passed away at 11:49 a.m. Sunday, May 20, 2012, at St. Joseph Hospital, Kokomo. He was born Jan. 3, 1929, in Delphi to the late Loyal and Flossie Fern (Stone) Hoshaw. On Feb. 4, 1954, in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, he married Katherine Yamashita, who survives.

Bud served his country in the U. S. Navy from 1951 until 1955. He was a 1956 Purdue graduate and retired as an engineer from Delco Electronics after more than 25 years of service.

Bud and his wife were past members of Emanuel United Methodist Church, Indianapolis, and current members of Grace United Methodist Church, Kokomo, where he taught Sunday school, was an assistant scout master, and was an usher.

He was an avid reader, enjoyed woodworking and loved classical music. Most of all he loved and cherished his family.

He is survived by his wife, Katherine Hoshaw; a son, David (Jan) Hoshaw; a daughter, Lani (Carlos) Bermudez; a son, Ray Hoshaw; grandchildren, Hunter and T. J. Hoshaw, Carlos Bermudez Jr., Junie Hinkley, Ryan Bermudez, Santino Bermudez; two nieces, Christa and Lisa; and one nephew, Joel.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Charles Richard "Dick" (Elizabeth) Hoshaw; a daughter-in-law, Julie Hoshaw; and a grandson, Nathan Hoshaw.

Services are noon Saturday at Grace United Methodist Church, with Pastor Mark Hill officiating. Burial will follow in Kokomo Memorial Park Cemetery, with military rites provided by the U. S. Navy and the Kokomo V.F.W. Military Rites Team.
