Robert H. Putt, 77, of Saxton, died Oct. 7, 1999, at the Nason Hospital, Roaring Spring. Born Dec. 22, 1921, in Saxton, R.D., he was the son of the late Edgar and Lemma (Hinkle) Putt. He married Fern L. Ritchey June 9, 1946, in Camp Springs. Md. Surviving are his wife at home, and two children: Bonnie Renasco. Landsdown, Md.; and Leslie Robert Putt, Madison, S.D. Also surviving are three sisters: Madeline McNitt, Santa Rosa, Calif.; Dorothy Johnson, Austin, Texas; and Helen Black, Roaring Spring. Six brothers and sisters preceded him in death. He retired in 1977, after 21 years of service, as a heavy equipment operator from Washington, DC. Local 77. He was a veteran of World War II.
Note: He was first buried at the Grandview cemetery at Saxton and then moved to the Bethel cemetery.
