Robert was a Pvt in Col Lewis Nocola's Regiment of the Continental Line.

The DAR shows his wife was Elloner Sutton and that during the Revolution he suffered depredation, WESTMORELAND Co 1783. (Note: The maiden name of Sutton comes from a SAR. There is an Eleanor Hanshaw-Archer that is speculated to be Robert's wife. It has also been theorized that possibly a first wife was Sutton and second wife Hanshaw.)

There is a SAR application for a descendant who lists his birth year as 1733 and death year as 1821. A findagrave page for Eleanor lists a death date of 1821 and may be where that death date comes from. The below land record and picture of his stone indicate 1836. His birth year is in question and a bio does say he lived to be very old.
(Note: this tombstone can be seen on a PA cemetery site and reads 1836 - http://www.uscemeteryproj2.com/pennsylvania/fayette/brownfield/brownfieldrjr.htm )

Also the below proves Robert Brownfield Sr was still alive in 1835 indicating the 1836 death date is accurate.
