Allen J. Berk, 82, of 3340 Reading Crest Ave., Reading, formerly of Tilden Township, Berks County, died Monday, May 18, at home. He was the husband of Beulah M.A. (Oldt) Berk.
He was owner and operator of Allen Berk Furniture Store, Tilden Township, for 35 years before retiring in 1988. Simultaneously, he was a framer for the former Reading Railroad Co. for 35 years.
Born in Albany Township, he was a son of the late Adam and Sara (Ernst) Berk.
He was a member of New Bethel United Church of Christ, Albany Township.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors: Wife, nieces and nephews.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Leibensperger Funeral Home, 65 S. 4th St., Hamburg. Call 7-9 p.m. Thursday.
