BROWN Robert C. Brown, 76, of Tulsa, born April 16, 1930, in Wayne, OK, the son of Frank and Myrtle Powell Brown, passed away on February 1 after a long illness. Funeral services will be 11am Tuesday, February 6 at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel in Edmond. Robert graduated from Wayne High School in 1948 and served as a meteorologist in the U.S. Army until 1952.
A 1957 graduate of the University of Oklahoma's School of Geology, Robert worked for the U.S. Dept. of Defense in St. Louis, MO and Washington D.C. He also served 20 years in the U.S. Navy Reserves. Retired from Federal service, Robert moved to Edmond and worked for the Oklahoma State Corporation Commission and Oklahoma Dept. of Mines. In 1955, he married Joy Fay Dailey of Ada. He leaves behind his wife of 51 years, a grandson Nicholas Brown of Perkins, a sister, Frances Waits of Moore and a brother, J.D. Brown of Tecumseh. His parents and three brothers, Walter Brown, Sydney Brown and Lloyd Brown, preceded him in death. Robert was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Oklahoma City and will be remembered for his gracious-ness, kindness and devotion to his family.
