Ruth K. Balmer, 95, of Wellsville, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2005 at the Manor Care Health Services, Carlisle.
She was born December 28, 1909 in Stouchsburg, PA, the daughter of the late Aaron A. and Mary S. (Linde-muth) Killmer.
Ruth was the widow of Vere E. Balmer.
She was a member of Barrens United Lutheran Church, Dillsburg and was active in its Willing Workers and Alter Guild.
Ruth is survived by 1 son, Charles V., of Manheim; 1 daughter, Olga R. Shreve of Wellsville; 1 sister, Marian K. Stern of Wellsville; and 1 niece, Sandra R. Miller of Carlisle. She also leaves behind 8 grandchildren, Sherry March of Wellsville; John Shreve II of Wellsville, Denise Connors of Milwaukee, WI, Kelly Greensmith of Hummelstown, Toni Rakoski of Camp Hill, Lynn Balmer of Manheim, Kathy Rowley of Millersville, and Beth Barrett of California; 14 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death also by a daughter, Bonita L. Hampton.
Services will be held Tuesday, July 19, 2005 at 11 a.m., in her church, 232 Kralltown Road, Dillsburg, with the Rev. Eric Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Barrens Salem Union Cemetery. A visitation will be held Tuesday from 10-11 a.m., at the church.
