In about 1925, about the time of her mother's death, Gracie became a nun in the Catholic Church. She was baptized with a new name, Sister Mary Philip. She filed for Social Security under her changed name, Mary Philip Fallwell. She was of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word (CCVI), St. Joseph's Convent, San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas. She lived at the convent until her death on July 2, 1975, and is buried there at the CCVI Cemetery. She was 86 years of age.
Her brother, John, wrote family history records in 1968 for his three sons, in these records he stated that at that time Gracie was living at the Sisters' Retirement Home at St. Joseph's Convent. She lived at the convent until her death on July 2, 1975, and is buried there at the CCVI Cemetery. She lived to be 86 years of age.
According to her death certificate, "Agnes Grace Fallwell (Sr. M. Philip, C.C.V.I.)", she had lived at the convent for 50 years and died there. It also stated that her occupation was a college teacher and that she was buried in the Incarnate Word Convent Cemetery on July 3, 1975, the day after her death. She may be buried under her baptized name, Sr. Mary Philip, rather than her birth given name of Agnes Grace.
