Born in Leipsig

Enlisted in the 7th U. S. Cavalry on 24 April 1869 at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.

Was in Myles Koegh's Company I. He was not at the Battle of the Little Big Horn as he was sick and no doubt left at Fort Abraham Lincoln. His sickness probably saved his life, as Koegh's troop was wiped out that day.

Died at the Soldiers Home in Washington D. C.
